Oakington Rural Travel Hub – views requested

The Greater Cambridge Partnership is set to launch a consultation for a proposed new transport interchange in Oakington.

Following initial engagement with the local community this summer we are now planning to consult on the proposals for a pilot Rural Travel Hub which, if agreed, would be one of the first in the area.

Rural Travel Hubs are small transport interchanges which encourage people to change to a more environmentally friendly way of travelling. The potential Rural Travel Hub would be next to Station Road and adjacent to the Oakington Guided Busway stop. It will provide new links to connect Oakington and the surrounding villages with public transport, walking, and cycling routes.

We’re looking for your views on the need for a Rural Travel Hub in Oakington, what facilities should be provided at any hub, and any comments on some initial design options.

We hope that people from the surrounding area will use the proposed Oakington Rural Travel Hub and it’s really important to us that local people, including those in Rampton, tell us what they think of the proposals.
