The Willows – Music in the village hall

The Willows are a folk roots family band from Cambridge. Fronted by the breathtaking voice of Jade Rhiannon, supported by rich vocal harmonies and sensitive acoustic musicianship, the band draw inspiration from the British folk and Americana traditions in equal quantity.

The band’s debut album, Beneath Our Humble Soil, was released in 2013 and has been championed by the likes of Mike Harding and Bob Harris and was nominated for Best Debut Album in the Spiral Earth Awards 2014. “…The Willows are a breath of fresh air to the folk music community…” Maverick magazine

The music itself is rich in power, with the band equally at home with pin-drop intimacy as they are invigorating foot-stompers.

Absolutely gorgeous sound – A lovely album – Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2

A hugely enjoyable album; with songs that engage and enliven, music that appeals across the board; a warm and wonderful release – Folk Radio UK

Following summer festival appearances at Glastonbury, Sark, Sidmouth, Broadstairs, Village Pump, Wilderness, Purbeck & Bristol the band will be on tour throughout the UK in September and October. We are delighted to welcome them.

Jade Rhiannon – Vocals, Shruti Box
Cliff Ward – Banjo, Guitar, Violin, Vocals
