Willingham Youth Centre

What?

The Willingham Youth Club meets during term time every Monday from 6.30-8.00 (ages 11-13) and Wednesdays from 6.30-8.30 (ages 11-16).

Why?

The aim of the Youth Club is to give the young people of Willingham and surrounding villages a space to meet friends, socialise and engage in activities away from home, ranging from arts and crafts, computer games, board games, music to outdoor sports and cookery. The Club is yours and you have a full say in all the activities that are on offer: if there is something that you are keen to do just make the suggestion. There is also a tuck shop during club nights which is staffed by Youth Club members, giving experience of cash handling and business management. Now and then there is the opportunity for some of the young people to take on volunteer roles at community events, raising further funds for the Youth Club activities.

Where?

The new Willingham Youth Centre, opened in January 2015, is attached to the Ploughman Hall, West Fen Road, Willingham CB24 5LP. It is a two-storey dedicated space with fully fitted kitchen, relaxation areas and a wide range of equipment. The space is also available for regular hire by groups and for children’s parties (we have a full set of kiddy-sized tables and chairs that may be used for this purpose).

How?

Just turn up on the night. We are a friendly and informal group and would love to meet you. Members joining for the first time are required to complete a parental consent form. The cost per session is £1 per person.

Who?

The Youth Club is open to all secondary school students aged from 11 – 16 years. It is staffed by appropriately trained adults who have all been DBS checked. Members have the freedom to come and go as they please but are always supervised when in the Youth Club building.
